A Remarkable Feat
In 1991, Lofoten Links was still just a dream.
Although Lofoten Golf Club was established, it wasn’t until 1998 the Lofoten Utvikling AS was founded. Together, these two visionary teams created the initial 6-hole version of the course.
Over the next 12 years, the course expanded to 9 holes. Finally, in July 2015, Lofoten Links emerged as a stunning 18-hole links course, etched beautifully into the Lofoten landscape.
But how did it all begin?
Who envisioned the creation of a golf course on the small island of Gimsøy Island, located above the Arctic Circle in Lofoten, Norway? Surely this wouldn’t be possible, would it?
And how did this sandy, rugged terrain transform into a Top 100, world-class golf course?
Find out in our 50-minute behind-the-scenes documentary, filmed in 1998.
