1991: An idea to create a world-class golf course was born.
1998: The first 6-hole version of the course was built.
2001: The course expanded to 9 holes.
2008: 2 new holes were added and some holes were rebuilt – still 9 holes total.
2010: Lofoten Links defined as a true links course by George Peper and Malcolm Campbell in the book True Links.
2015: Lofoten Links opened as a new and rebuilt 18-hole links course.
Since then, we’ve earned our way on to some lists and to the top of others.
2016:
• Holes 2, 16, and 13 rank as World Bests along with one of the best opening stretches and best views (Golf Digest)
• We ranks #51 in Norway (top100golfcourses.com)
2017:
• We move up to #20 in Norway (top100golfcourses.com)
2018:
• Golf World ranks us at #65 in Continental Europe
• We move up to secure the #1 spot in Norway, and #51 in Continental Europe (top100golfcourses.com)
2019:
• Golf World ranks us #53 in Europe’s Top Golf Resorts
2020:
• We rank #96 in Top 100 Courses (you can play) – Golf World/Today’s Golfer UK
2021:
• We rank as the best golf course in Scandinavia (Golf World)
• Golf World ranks us #6 in Continental Europe
• We rank #12 in Europe’s Modern Courses in Europe (Golf World)
2022:
• We move up to #79 in Top 100 World Courses (you can play) (Golf World)
• We rank the esteemed #1 X Factor Golf Course in Continental Europe (Golf World)
• Golf Digest ranks us #1 in Norway
• And #44 in World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses
